Book Club meets on the third Friday of even numbered months August through April from 4:15 to 5:15 at the Douglass Community Center, 2305 Douglass Boulevard, Louisville, KY 40205. Three reading selections are offered:
Grades 1-4: this group is for children reading at an elementary or early middle school level, as well as those reading at a higher level, but whose sensitivities may be triggered by selections from the 5-8 group.
Grades 5-8: this group is for youth who are reading at a high school level and who are ready for more mature content.
The PK-K group has been temporarily suspended.
Please note that these are suggested guidelines; any child is permitted to attend any discussion group. The ranges have been created, and the materials selected, with gifted students in mind. We ask that you help your child decide which selection might be most appropriate. If you have questions or concerns, please contact us and we will try to be of help.
To ensure adequate staffing, please let us know you will be attending by using our RSVP link no later than the Wednesday before the meeting.
